Karen is an ACA qualified accountant with over 20 years’ experience in practice.   She began her career in the audit department of a Big Four firm, focusing latterly on financial services clients.   In 1999, she transferred within the firm to specialise in forensic accounting.   Karen has worked on a wide variety of commercial disputes involving clients across a broad range of industries.   She joined Haberman Ilett in 2014.

Karen’s recent cases at Haberman Ilett include the preparation of submissions for the buyer in an expert determination to resolve an earn-out dispute in the packaging sector, the assessment of quantum for the sole arbitrator in an ICC arbitration relating to a claim for breach of contract brought by a US-owned party against its Afghan joint venture partner, and assisting an Eastern European government to assess the quantum aspects of wasted costs and loss of profits claims in an ICC arbitration involving the construction and maintenance of a tolled highway which was terminated at an early stage.

Much of Karen’s spare time is absorbed by her two young sons, but she also enjoys Pilates and travelling.
