Since joining Haberman Ilett six months ago, I have had the privilege of working closely with our experts, who continue to impress the industry with their knowledge and expertise.  Their reputations are acknowledged by Who’s Who Legal in the ‘Guide to expert witnesses in Arbitration 2019’, which notes “Haberman Ilett performs impressively in this year’s research”.

Seven of our experts are featured in this year’s guide, demonstrating the market leading expertise that we continue to provide as a firm.  Six of our partners, Philip Haberman, Frank Ilett, Liz Perks, Vikki Wall, Valery Knyazev and Debbie Revill, have all been included previously and our director, Graham Nunns, is acknowledged for the first time.

With over 20 years’ experience as a forensic accountant, Vikki Wall is described by WWL as an expert who gets “immersed in the detail” and she impresses her clients with a “flexible and fast” approach.  She has broad experience in investment treaty disputes, transaction-related disputes and professional negligence claims.

Debbie Revill has over 15 years’ forensic accounting experience and was promoted to partner at Haberman Ilett in April 2018.  She specialises in the oil and gas and financial services sectors and WWL describes her as a “superb expert”, impressing clients with her “deep experience testifying on quantum issues”.

Valery Knyazev has over 22 years’ of professional experience and has particular experience of cases involving the CIS Region.  WWL notes that Valery has “in-depth understanding and first-hand experience in dealing with complex damages matters” and is a “very knowledgeable expert”.

Liz Perks has specialised in dispute resolution services for the past 18 years, during which time she has focussed on the financial aspects and evaluating quantum of contractual claims.  She is praised for her “outstanding forensic accountancy expertise which she has deployed on a plethora of investment treaty arbitrations”.

Graham Nunns brings over 25 years’ of forensic experience to Haberman Ilett’s leadership team.  He is praised for being “a pleasure to work with” and clients appreciate his “straightforward modern business manner”.

WWL also gives recognition to our managing partner Frank Ilett for his “extensive experience” and to Philip Haberman, our senior partner, who was named ‘Arbitration Expert Witness of the Year’ for the fourth year, describing him as a “highly rated” and “hugely respected” expert.

In addition, we are delighted that three of our senior associates, Kate LilleymanAnastasia Mikhalitsyna and Simon Procopiou, have been recognised as future leaders in the field.

The range of cases that our experts work on is testament to their established reputations in the industry.  I am excited to continue to work with them, and learn from them, as leaders in their field, and I look forward to developing as the firm continues to grow and succeed under their leadership.
